First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia ~ Welcome home!

MARCH FOR A PEOPLE’S BUDGET - STOP PRISON EXPANSION NOW!

MAY 25 – JUNE 3

If you were at FirstU on April 28th, you may remember representatives from Decarcerate PA -- including local filmmaker, Matt Pillischer -- speaking during and after our service about their work to address social justice issues around mass incarceration in Pennsylvania.  Members of FirstU, the Unitarian Society of Germantown, the Thomas Paine UU Fellowship, the First UU Church of Berks County, and the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg are all partnering with Decarcerate PA to support their march from Philadelphia to Harrisburg to protest prison expansion in Governor Corbett's 2013 budget.

The march will start with a huge rally in Love Park at 12:00 on Saturday, May 25th and will stop in towns and cities across the state, landing in Harrisburg on the same day the General Assembly will be reconvening to discuss the budget.  Join us to demand legislators reject Governor Corbett’s prison budget and invest in communities, not prisons!

Rally: Saturday, May 25th, 12:00 pm, LOVE Park (15th St., b/w JFK Blvd. & Arch)
