Staff Contacts & Bios

Jonathan Blount, Sexton

Jonathan BlountI was born in Philadelphia, PA in March 1970. I began to pursue my artistic inclinations during high school. At first I decided to develop my creativity by becoming a pastry chef, but soon realized that I needed to change from cake to canvas. My early oils were expressions of my inner voice, translating what I was feeling and hearing internally into paint. As I matured, I realized that I loved painting and drawing the male form. In approaching the artistic rendering of the male form, I start with shadow and work into the light.  My works have found their way into several private collections of friends and associates. Recently, I have become noted via exposure in the world wide web. In 2006 my works were featured at a Philadelphia LGT/Pan exhibit at the Aphrodite Gallery in Queen Village, Philadelphia, and at the Liberty Bears' LGBT art exhibition. When I'm not doing art, you might find me baking cakes. This is a whole art unto itself. Baking is a big part of my family. I get it from my mom and grand mom.  I been working with the church for ten years. Orville Gumm (LEE) got me in to the church. Lee was the head sexton at the time, who was also my partner.  I now live my new partner Braheem.

Christina Doe, Building Superintendent

I grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania, and moved to Philadelphia to attend Moore College of Art and Design, where I received my Bachelors Degree in drawing and printmaking. I have exhibited in and around Philadelphia.  In the past few years her regular interests and activities have grown to include weightlifting and Kung Fu.  A serious cook and love of plants and gardening round me out, I am currently working towards reinventing my art since it has stagnated over the past few years.  Email Christina or call 215-563-3980 extension 304.

Norman Fouhy, Business Administrator

Ní neart go cur le chéile (There is no strength like co-operation). This is at the heart of Norman's administrative success. Since 1989 he has collaborated with a cast of thousands in an often changing but always dynamic mix, including ministers, Boards, church personnel, committees and members, rental clients, vendors, licensing agencies and the general public. He has helped bring us into the 21st century and achieve balanced budgets with progressive improvements in business administration, fiscal procedures and property management. The church’s visibility as a truly vibrant cultural and community center has also grown locally and nationally thanks in large part to his work. Norman has a B.A. in Philosophy from Temple University. A native of Cork, Ireland, Norman and wife Jo Anna enjoy living in center city.  He keeps close to his Celtic roots with regular visits to family and friends in Ireland and England. Contact him at norman[at]philauu.org, 215-563-3980 extension 300.
