Ministry Leadership Team
The Ministry Leadership Team (MLT) supports the Minister in achieving the annual goals and the collective vision collaboratively set by the Minister, Congregation, Board, and MLT. The purpose of the MLT is to support the Minister by: maintaining regular contact with the primary ministry teams in order to stay current with their progress, questions and needs; assisting the ministry teams in achieving goals and meeting the ongoing needs of the congregation; reviewing ministry teams in order to identify needs and suggest collaboration; and giving approval to proposed ministry teams and suggest alliances with other existing teams.

The scope of the Ministry Leadership Team (MLT) is as follows. It will:

Develop and maintain procedures for itself that govern every contingency of its work and concerns. (Procedures)

Develop healthy ministry teams by providing consultation, resources, and encouragement. (Development)

Give honest and pertinent feedback, advice and recommendations to the Minister regarding the effectiveness of his/her ministry. (Consultation).

Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of every facet of the congregation's ministry. (Assessment)

Promote awareness and commitment by church members to the congregational mission/covenant and annual vision of shared ministry and maintain active, open and effective communication within the committee, with the congregation, with the Board of Trustees and with those who seek conflict management. (Communication)

Respond in a timely manner to conflicts. (Conflict Management).

Operate with a covenant of confidentiality and mutual honest. (Confidentiality)

Educate the congregation about the MLT function and purpose. (Education)
The Ministry Leadership Team is composed of an adequate number of members to serve effectively as liaisons to major ministry teams and one at-large member to serve as co-chair. The Board, Minister, Nominating Committee and MLT members shall recruit and nominate members to be approved by the Board of Trustees. The MLT shall appoint its own Co-Chair to serve with the Minister. The MLT shall, with Board approval, replace MLT members who resign membership from the congregation, assume another significant leadership position within the congregation, or are unable to share workload and responsibilities of the MLT. The MLT shall operate using guidelines established in the MLT Manual and review any significant change with the Board.
