Dear Friends,
Welcome to First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia's new interactive
web presence! Within these pages you can connect with friends,
learn about our powerful ministry, and discover ways to explore
religious education.
Reverend Nate Walker, minister of First Unitarian, the Religious
Education Ministry Team and I, on behalf of the congregation
welcome you and your children to the religious education program
here at First Unitarian. We invite your family to participate in
the many activities we have to offer. Our program is open to
everyone, regardless of religious background or present beliefs.
Here at First Unitarian we strive to create an atmosphere that
respects and values individual differences and personhood. We learn
from one another and are enriched by the variety of religious and
cultural experiences we share together.
The religious education program, described in the following tabs,
offers an engaging variety of learning experiences for each child,
centered in worshipful experiences and appropriate to the
children's developmental needs and abilities. We are grounded in
our
Unitarian
Universalist principles, and challenge ourselves and children
and youth to explore a diverse community of religious and spiritual
expression. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with
questions about this exciting ministry.
In Faith,

Erick DuPree, MA
Director of Religious Education
As a Unitarian Universalist congregation, we commit
ourselves to provide children and youth with a sense of
belonging to a caring community where they feel safe and supported;
to help children value themselves and others; to accept
responsibility for their lives and to return to the community the
same love and support they receive from it; and to offer an
opportunity to explore one's own spirituality while learning to
respect the diversity of religious expression.
