First Unitarian Sanctuary is part of an ongoing series of ENGAGING SPACE events produced in collaboration by visual artist Lynn Palewicz and composer John B Hedges. Come on a self-led experiential tour of the First Unitarian Church Sanctuary. Observe, encounter and interact with the Sanctuary through a curated series of sensory experiences engaging, changing and even challenging your perception of the space. Experiences will include diverse musical performances, dance, poetry readings and kinesthetic art experiences to stimulate a dialogue between you, the occupant, and the sanctuary itself.

Chirihue (pronounced “Chee-dee-way”) is a international collective of musicians who perform jazz, classical and folk-infused compositions that stretch from the southern Caribbean basin, across the Andes, and down to the heart of Chile’s central valley. Their music is a living expression of diversity in Latin American music, and a poignant connection to specific regional cultures and history. They come to us as part of their 2016 tour sponsored by the First Unitarian Church Pittsburgh. Click here for more information on Chirihue.
