Event Description

The 10th Annual Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation is A " Walking Dialogue among Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Taoists, Agnostics and others.

This year's Peace Walk theme is Sustainers of the Earth, Sustainers of Each Other, Sustainers of Peace through the Generations.

Programs with music, prayer, poetry, ritual and wisdom will be held at the following houses of worship:

2:00 pm- Al Aqsa Mosque, 1501 Germantown Avenue

3:10 pm- St. Augustine Church, 234 North Lawrence St.

4:30 pm- Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 N. Broad St.

5:30 pm-Refreshments and Fellowship at the final stop: Rodeph Shalom

Parking is available at Al Aqsa and Rodeph Shalom.

A bus will accompany the walk for people who are unable to walk the distance. A bus will bring people back the the parking lot at Al Aqsa at the end.

Sonia Sanchez, Philadelphia’s Poet Laureate, has been confirmed for this year’s Peace Walk. She will participate in our program at the St. Augustine’s Church congregational stop. Our own Zemoria Brandon is one of the organizers of this event. For more information visit
