POWER, an interfaith alliance for social justice, has planned a lobby day focused on adequate funding for public education at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. Free buses to Harrisburg will be available.
These days usually begin with boarding the buses before 8am, lobbying between 10am and 3pm, and returning around 5:00. The lobbying consists of a mass gathering in the rotunda with targeted speeches followed by visit to the offices of individual legislators. June is the prime month for such efforts, as the legislator usually hold off voting on the budget until then. Past efforts have made a demonstrable difference in school funding.
If you can consider joining this lobby day, please contact Luana Goodwin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
