A Call for Representation from Your Congregation

It seems as if many of the values and the groups of people we hold dear are under attack these days, from women to immigrants to sexual and gender minorities, the UU community may be one of the only safe havens left. In a political climate where “The Other” is openly attacked, the UU commitment to Welcome and Inclusion is needed now more than ever.

This is an *URGENT* call to UU congregations in our region to address how we can work together to make our congregations safe havens for those who are embattled and threatened, and whose very lives are at stake.
This action-oriented workshop is essential for leaders of UU congregations to discuss the barriers to serving our communities effectively and to begin to work to improve our communications, abilities and responses to at-risk populations. In sponsoring this Leadership Summit and a follow-up meeting in September, the UU Congregation of Princeton seeks to create a coalition of congregations to share information, develop and pilot programs, and learn
together how to be truly welcoming communities.

We hope for up to four (4) representatives from your congregation including a youth member be sent to the Summit.

I am thinking of attending. Anyone want to join me?

I've got a doctor's appt the day before, and had been thinking I should help with Rebuilding Together on Sat. the 28th. But there's a good chance I'll be told I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy, so may have to bow out of RT.  Provided I could depart before the event is done (due to a dinner engagement at 6), I'd consider going to this event. I'll need to make sure Bill doesn't have plans for me that day however.
