Event Description

Join us at a Task Force Meeting to discuss an exciting new venture: an informal partnership with the Center for Literacy, an organization that provides training for adults to learn the skills to tutor other adults in literacy; the Center for Returning Citizens, an organization devoted to assisting citizens returning from prison in their transition to freedom; and us, friends and members of First U who are willing to tutor. It expands and builds on our successful tutoring program at the Andrew Jackson School. Those interested will be trained in January or February and then are expected to volunteer for three hours per week for at least six months. Dennis Brunn from UUPLAN will be present to tell us more about this important organization. All who are interested are welcome to attend.
