Join UUs from across the Greater Philadelphia area for a forum on “Ethically Dining Out,” which will focus on justice for food service workers in the restaurant sector locally and nationally. Unfair, dangerous, and unhealthy working conditions will be reported based on recent research. The stories of how restaurant workers are organizing for justice will also be shared. Information about the current campaign for a mandated Paid Sick Leave Policy for Philadelphia will be presented. All are invited to engage in this conversation and put their faith into action as informed consumers and advocates.
Speaking at the forum are:
Fabricio Rodriguez, Director, and Sheila Maddali, Policy Analyst, of the Restaurant Opportunities Center
Marianne Bellesorte, Policy Director, Pathways PA and coordinator of the Campaign for Paid Sick Leave in Philadelphia
This event is sponsored byThe Economic Justice/Restaurant Workers Justice Team of UUPLAN (Unitarian Universalist Pennsylvania Legislative Advocacy Network).
The forum will be held at the Unitarian Society of Germantown (6511 Lincoln Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19119). A limited carpool is available for those who need transportation. We will be leaving immediately after service from the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia.
