Better angels? Some say that war and violent aggression are built into our genetic structure and will never change. There are other perspectives on the evidence and there is hope.
Our sabbatical sermon will be offered by Rev. Dr. .Kathryn Ellis, the minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Restoration in Philadelphia. She says that she feels blessed to serve this multiracial, historically universalist congregation. Kathy has a doctorate in counseling psychology and served as a psychotherapist for many years before discovering a new call to congregational ministry. For her, both are how about learning to live well and love well. She says she has two homes: one in the happily diverse neighborhood of Mount Airy, Philadelphia and the other in small town Carlisle, Pennsylvania with her husband. She can often be seen on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
