Social Justice at First Church: Focus on Literacy!
Want to know what’s happening in Philly to improve education and literacy? And how First Church can collaborate with existing agencies?
A task force is getting together to organize a forum in the spring to do just that. We intent to invite organizations such as the Philadelphia Education Fund, the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy and more, but also neighborhood schools, churches and interested groups. This task force now includes Brian Lago, Luana Goodwin and me. We would like to invite you to join us to organize the forum: reaching out to agencies, setting up a date, advertising within the church and in the neighborhood and being part of the round table/forum.

Please spread the word about Rebuilding Together - on April 21st and 28th. It's a great way to help keep a neighbor's home safe, warm and dry. This year FirstUU is sponsoring a house owned by a veteran who lives in Germantown.
