The nursery program at First Unitarian is available every Sunday and during special events. The nursery serves children from birth to 4 years old. Click here to register your child for childcare.
Are your children over 4 years old? Check out our Children's Religious Education page for more information.
Our Nursery provides a caring and fun-filled environment every Sunday morning from 10:15 AM to 12:10 PM during the regular church year (Sept. - mid June). Parents and guardians, if you attend services regularly, please be sure to register your child online, or come early to register in person.
We welcome parents/guardians and those who are visiting! When you arrive, please fill out a short visitor information sheet so our caregivers will know the needs of your child and where in the building you can be located. To keep everyone’s comfort in mind, please don't bring your child to church or the Nursery if they are not feeling well. We also ask you to bring a spare diaper, a bottle, and a favorite toy for your child.
The Work in the World: Our Partnerships
"It takes a village" originated from the Nigerian Igbo culture and proverb "Ora na azu nwa" which means it takes the community/village to raise a child. What better way to create community but to plant the seed of knowledge within the minds of the youngest.
First Unitarian is proud to partner and collaboratively coexist with Beacon Center for Children and Little Miracles, both nonsectarian childcare centers that meet the growing needs of today's children. Please contact them directly should you or someone you know be in need of daycare or preschool.

Beacon Center, a unique program that has been in operation for over twenty-five years, provides educational, emotional, creative and social guidance for children in a home-like and loving environment. Beacon Center believes in sensory learning through play, games, manipulatives, and exploration making a child's first "school" experience a relaxed, friendly and joyous one. A day at Beacon Center will include language arts, reading readiness, science, music, movement, math, and art activities that are stimulating and will encourage childrens’ growth and development. The ultimate goal is to form a union with parents to help children develop confidence, a strong self image and a thirst for learning. The Beacon Center offers flexible schedules and enrollment throughout the year as space permits.
