UU Bulletin
A monthly newsletter from the Unitarian Universalist Association to keep you and your congregation informed.
We're excited to share the "UU Bulletin." This new e-newsletter will be replacing the Congregational Bulletin. The UU Bulletin is a monthly notice compiled by the Unitarian Universalist Association's (UUA) Office of Information and Public Witness with input from UUA staff groups and UU institutions. It is filled with great tips, important notices, and ways to increase your congregation's engagement with the wider movement. Please feel free to share with your congregation's members. Enjoy!

New Books for You!

Two new titles from Skinner House Books are available at your UUA Bookstore. Falling Into the Sky, the 2013 UUA Meditation Manual, is full of open spaces and possibility. Edited by Abhi Janamanchi and his son Abhimanyu, it compiles forty remarkable writings from Unitarian Universalist ministers, leaders, and lay people.

War Zone Faith: An Army Chaplain's Reflections from Afghanistan shares the story of an Army chaplain deployed to Afghanistan. George Tyger has seen and experienced things that many of us cannot fathom. Determined to find meaning in the midst of it all, Tyger reflects on his faith, his prejudices, and his privilege, and shares the unique perspective he has gained while serving and ministering in a war zone.

Now available in paperback from Beacon Press Prophetic Encounters: Religion and the American Radical Tradition by Daniel McKanan, and See Me Naked: Stories of Sexual Exile in American Christianity by Amy Frykholm.

The Road from Phoenix: Immigration Reform

This spring, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass comprehensive immigration reform. We are asking congregations to organize in-district, "neighbor-to-neighbor" meetings with our members of Congress between March 25 and April 5. Join our group of faithful activists committed to ensuring compassionate immigration reform.

The first 50 congregations to sign-up receive a packet of Standing on the Side of Love goodies to support their work! Here's a step-by-step guide to making your voice heard.

Luminary Leaders is a recognition program that honors youth for their leadership and service in UU communities. Recognized youth are then connected to increased opportunities as well as to one another. Do you know a youth who should be recognized? Share this application with them or send us a nomination form and we'll send them a personal invitation to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and there is no limit to the number of qualified youth we can recognize.

Annual Income Reminder from Church Staff Finance

Employee income is related to long-term disability (LTD) and life insurance benefits. If your employees participate in either the LTD or Life/AD&D plans available through the UUA's Office of Church Staff Finance, it is important to notify our office of changes to the employee's annual earnings.

This will help to ensure accurate benefits for your covered employees. Please reference the relevant insurance certificate booklet to make certain you are updating earnings information based on the correct definition of earnings.

If you need help or require a copy of the certificate booklet for either insurance plan, contact Patti Angelina at
