Masonry restoration soon to reach new heights!
I am thrilled to report that the next phase of the Preservation Project is about to begin.
Scaffolding will rise from the roof of the porch to the top of the ornate chimney later this spring.
Knapp Masonry's crew will work high above street level re-pointing masonry joints and repairing spalls in the limestone.
Detailed descriptions of similar work on the porch can be found in my earlier posts:
The limestone walls enclosing our Memorial Garden are also included in this phase.
A preview of the end result can be seen in the right-hand photo. The section of porch wall to the right of the down-spout is completely repaired. I cannot wait to see all of these walls looking that good!
Look for new updates as the work moves forward.
